Last weekend, His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, paid a visit of comfort and support to wounded frontline soldiers receiving treatment at Preah Ket Mealea Hospital in Phnom Penh.

Royal Gesture of Encouragement

The Sovereign wished to personally express his profound gratitude and unwavering support to these courageous defenders of national sovereignty, injured in the line of duty. Accompanied by his entourage, His Majesty shook hands with the wounded soldiers, shared words of comfort, and wished them a swift recovery—thus embodying the unifying role of the Cambodian Monarchy.

Context of Military Engagements

This visit forms part of a series of solidarity gestures toward military personnel affected by recent security tensions, with wounded soldiers being treated in several hospitals across Phnom Penh, including Preah Ket Mealea, Calmette, and Preah Ang Duong.

The Cambodian Red Cross, under the leadership of Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, had previously conveyed messages of support from the King and the Queen Mother, underscoring national unity during these challenging times.
