A documentary traces the origins of Khmer Rise Up, an artistic and community-driven event pulled together in just ten days in Phnom Penh in late 2024, born out of the friendship between Zakary 'Zach' Peang and his partner in crime Shin, and their encounter with the Tiny Toones association.

On 3 July, at Bien Public in Bordeaux, a venue came alive to the rhythm of breaking and a Khmer DJ set for the launch of Hip Hope Community for Cambodia. It was only the opening move: on 8 July, the momentum carries on to Paris with the Tiny Jam. The shared goal, driven by the Bordeaux-based association Le Grand Crew, is to use dance to build a lasting bridge between the French hip-hop scene and two Cambodian organisations working on the ground, Tiny Toones and the Rombak Bat

After a long break, and in order to re-motivate our youngest members (but also everyone else) following the war, as well as ahead of the hip hop charity event on 6 September, the Khmers Atypical interviews are back. And it is the highly inspiring VIBOL LIM, one of the founders of ROMBAK BATTLE, who will kick things off.

As expected, the 2025 edition of the Rombak Battle brought energy, creativity and passion to an event that attracted several hundred people
